Driver Minimum Requirements
- Minimum age of twenty-three (23)
- Minimum of two (2) years experience driving commercial motor vehicles of the type expected to be utilized.
- Possession of valid Commercial Driver’s License issued by the resident state of the driver with any endorsements further required by TDS.
- No record of a driver’s license suspension or revocation for any reason during the thirty-six months’ prior to the date of the Motor Vehicle Report.
- No record of citation or convictions for the violations listed below during the thirty-six (36) months’ (unless otherwise noted) prior to the date of the MVR.
- Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs (7 years)
- Refusal to take a test provided for by an implied consent or similar law. (7 years)
- Violation of an “open container” or similar statue.
- Reckless homicide or involuntary manslaughter.
- Operating while under suspension or revocation.
- Leaving the scene of an accident (or “hit and run”).
- Speed exhibition, contest or drag race.
- Use of a motor vehicle in the commission of a felony.
- Assault with a motor vehicle.
- Operating a motor vehicle without the permission of the owner.
- Fleeing or eluding a police officer.
- No record of citation or conviction for more than 3 motor vehicle violations excluding those listed above (any one of which is sufficient to cause disqualification), during the thirty-six (36) months prior to the date of the MVR.
- No record of involvement in more than two (2) preventable accidents while operating a motor vehicle during the thirty-six (36) months prior to the date of the MVR.
- No record of involvement in two (2) or more preventable accidents and two (2) or more moving violations during the thirty-six (36) months prior to the date of the MVR.
- No record of involvement in one (1) or more preventable accidents and three (3) or more moving violations during the thirty-six (36) months prior to the date of the MVR.
- NO FELONY CONVICTIONS.
